SADA's Media and Entertainment practice is laser focused on helping our customers transform their businesses with Google technologies. From streamlining team collaboration with Google Workspace to enabling remote engineering teams with virtual development environments to unlocking new insights with Google's AI/ML tools, we are creating value for our customers at every step of the process.

As an Industry Practice Director, you will join our energetic and supportive team of experienced leaders from other industries in developing sales, solution, and customer success strategies– forging relationships with key SADA customers and partners, and representing SADA in your industry's technology ecosystems.


Key Responsibilities


You will develop strategic plans for your industry, then work with and through other departments at SADA toward their execution. The following list serves as a template of some key interactions and responsibilities you may have; however, it is expected that you will apply your experience toward developing a highly customized plan and set of activities to meet your industry's goals. 


Executive Management, Operations, and Legal Teams: You will serve as an experienced advisor to these teams in shaping the future of SADA, including:

  • Guide SADA's strategic roadmap as it pertains to investment and development of your industry
  • Provide industry insight into legal and regulatory issues
  • Advise in the development of tools and dashboards to guide and measure SADA's activities in your industry


Marketing and Alliances Teams. You will provide industry expertise to these teams to help drive brand awareness across industry channels, including:

  • Provide industry perspective to the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns and thought leadership activities that resonate with your industry
  • Identify and source industry solutions through alliances and/or within SADA
  • Serve as a SADA evangelist and industry thought leader on social media, in blogs, and at conferences


Sales and Pre-sales Engineering Teams. You will help empower SADA's sellers and customer engineers to instill trust and confidence in industry prospects, including:

  • Create relationships with key industry sales leaders at Google to help drive business opportunities to SADA
  • Work closely with sales and customer engineering teams on strategies for specific products, regions, segments, and customers 
  • Provide training and tools to enable these teams to speak the language of your industry
  • On limited, strategically important accounts, participate directly in sales motions, forging relationships with decision makers and helping to close deals


Professional Services and Technical Support Teams. You will work to ensure our engineers are prepared to meet the demanding expectations of industry customers, including:

  • Help these teams learn the nuanced expectations of technical service delivery in your industry, in order to provide five-star experiences to our customers
  • For a limited number of strategic accounts, support the leadership of professional services engagements to ensure smooth delivery and provide a (rarely needed) escalation lifeline for customer executives
  • Serve as a product manager for internally-developed, industry-specific solutions


Customer Success Team. You will support this team's efforts toward the satisfaction, retention, and growth of customers in your industry, including:

  • Work closely with Customer Success in their efforts to optimize processes and people to meet industry expectations
  • On limited, key accounts, forge relationships of trust with client leadership to provide a (rarely needed) escalation lifeline
  • Participate in client period business reviews with clients and consult with account teams in helping them understand the demanding expectations of our customers


Your SADA Experience


Your onboarding and developing experience will be customized to the specific needs of you and your industry. The following is a rough outline of high-level timing and expectations.


Months 1-3: General SADA onboarding, shadowing of other industry leads, internal advisory activities and initial mentored customer interactions. Success measured by participation and completion of these activities.


Months 3-6: Rapidly increasing independence in the activities above, initial outward-facing evangelism activities, and initial work on specific deliverables related to SADA's strategic plan for your industry. Success measured by quality of independent work.


Months 7-12: Spearhead the execution of initial elements of your strategic plan, learning from experience and revising the plan for year 2. Success measured by feedback from SADA departmental heads on the value of your participation.


Years 2 and beyond: Increasing independence and potential addition of direct reports, regular review and revision of industry plans, and increasingly metrics-driven approaches to calculating industry success.

Job Requirements


Minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years of combined education and professional experience in the media, entertainment, and/or gaming industries, including media arms of telecom.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in technology leadership and/or consulting
  • 3+ years of experience leading, managing, and/or implementing cloud technologies in the industry setting
  • Demonstrated experience working in highly collaborative roles and organizations

Preferred qualifications include experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Google cloud experience — certifications a plus
  • Industry-facing marketing and thought leadership activities
  • Customer relationship management
  • Software and professional services purchasing and contracting
  • Product management
  • Public speaking
