TITLE: MIG Welder

DEPARTMENT: Exhaust

LOCATION: La Crosse, WI

REPORTS TO: Exhaust Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing setup on all welding components requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique where alignment, dimensions and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
• Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
• Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
• Setup and operate welding machines
• Weld thin wall carbon and stainless steel tubing
• Visualize and troubleshoot problems associated with welding
• Observe and inspect parts to ensure specifications are met

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience performing TIG & MIG operations on various materials
• Welding certification & training required
• Personal weld protective equipment
• Knowledge of weld symbols and terminology
• Ability to read and understand blue prints and written procedures
• Knowledge of material characteristics and flow
• Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
• High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
• Well organized and self-directed

PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:

Employee is regularly required to:

• Stand
• Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
• Talk and hear
• Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
• Reach above shoulders
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
• Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes

The work schedule for this opportunity is Monday-Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm (1st Shift). Occasional overtime available on Fridays.
