Don't even need compounding experience!! Just need to be open and willing to learn!

Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Specifics and Requirements:
- Area: Phoenix, AZ (North Phoenix) 85023
- Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active and in good standing Arizona state Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Years of Experience: 1-year minimum years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Schedule: Schedules start between 6:30-9:30am 8 hour shift 30 minute lunch. Every other weekend and up to 3 hours during the week.
- Pay: $20-22/hr, depending on experience
- Setting: Compounding
- Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check and drug screen.

Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Responsibilities:
Review order list and create daily workload; match compounded products against outgoing orders.
Effectively use pharmacy computer system to create and review formula logs as well as print, labels, worksheets, and manage inventory.
Use proper compounding and labeling techniques, emphasizing pharmaceutical elegance when making medications.
Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions into the appropriate dosage form.
Maintain product inventory by reordering materials/products necessary for compounding processes.
Ensure that the compounding lab and related equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy
Routinely check for outdated or soon to expire chemicals, commercially available products and compounded products.
Select proper packaging for compounded products (bottle size, tube size, etc.).
Understand and locate Material Safety Data Sheet “MSDS” guidelines for maintaining safety and managing safety events.
Locate and demonstrate general knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures “SOP’s”.
Use proper garbing techniques in accordance with SOP guidelines.
Effectively prepare and organize all compounded products for pharmacist review.
Must have thorough understanding of USP 795/800 guidelines, medical terminology and pharmacy calculations.
Must have knowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding.
Work closely with Quality Assurance Department to ensure product sterility, potency and absence of endotoxins.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and be capable of wearing all protective wear as required by State Board of Pharmacy (mask, gloves, gown, hair net, safety goggles etc.).
