Network Engineer - Contractor

Responsibilities:

This contractor role will travel to support projects in the field, including events and permanent installs. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing complicated and complex network problems on-site. The Network Engineer will develop and implement complex network solutions to resolve client issues, track and document all issues and resolutions in detail, and provide technical and consulting leadership on-site. The Network Engineer will have extensive knowledge of support, products, applications, methodologies, and technologies and how these technologies interact. This role will perform tasks using formal network design, implementation, development, and support methodologies specific to industry standards and procedures. The Network Engineer will write, review, and publish technical documentation at an expert level for each on-site job.

Requirements:

5-7+ years network support, design, implementation, or support experience. Ideal candidates should have the ability to keep up with any technical conversation involving networks. Candidates must have a deep understanding of TCP/IP packets, application of wireless technology (channel planning, interference detection and correction), and routing and signal flow. Candidates must effectively communicate in a professional manner and demonstrate exceptional time management skills. The ability to work various hours at night and on weekends as necessary around job schedules is a requirement. This contractor role requires 100% travel to various events, installs, etc. Candidates do not need to live in Raleigh, NC.
