To be responsible for the effective supervision of the Housekeeping Attendants per assigned shifts and projects. Play a leading role in ensuring the implementation of Rosewood Washington DC’s standards, of exquisite service in the department in line with the Hotel’s policies and procedures.
Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the facilities, amenities and services offered by the Hotel.
Prepare room attendant worksheets and ensure all relevant notes & traces are recorded on the documents
Assign special duties to Room Attendants/Lobby Attendants as instructed by the Housekeeping Management and check progress so that the tasks are completed to the Hotels standard and on time.
Record assigned rooms and any relevant information from the day into the housekeeping PASS ON
Enter/Record guest requests into Opera (Guest Profile) where suitable- Requests for specific coffee capsules, bed to be made a special way etc.
Recognize and welcome repeat guests, be familiar with their preferences and dislikes and brief the team accordingly
Investigate and take owner ship for resolving guest queries, complaints and incidences or lack of delivering service to standards – working with colleagues to maintain guest/visitor relationship. Keep the Housekeeping Department Heads constantly updated on incidences, action taken and progress.
Carrying out spot checks on par levels on each landing to ensure adequate stock items to service rooms on a regular basis
Inspect all arrival and departure rooms.
Inspect storage areas and instruct Room Attendants on any changes required.
Maintain a high level of presence on the floors so as to ensure excellent guest service is being offered by our team.
Spot check rooms & Public Areas to ensure standards of service and cleanliness are being kept.
Record any maintenance issues found with our Engineering team
Take immediate corrective action e.g. briefing, coaching etc. when necessary.
Be responsible for checking that Housekeeping team have satisfactorily completed the work assigned to them by signing off their work sheets before they go off duty.
On occasions expected to be able to check vacant and occupied rooms daily to ensure that they are fully stocked and replenished and presented to the Hotel’s standard.
Ensure rooms are turned over in a timely manner and to standard- be able to perform Room Attendant, Public Area Attendant duties to assist and ensure standards are met.
Monitor the level of service and the level of guests’ satisfaction on an ongoing basis within the Housekeeping department to ensure consistency with the established standards. Report findings and recommendations to the Housekeeping Department Heads.
Adhere to and encourage the Housekeeping team to comply with Lost & Found procedure.
Ensure Lost & Found items are logged and stored correctly.
Assist in regularly carrying out inspections of public areas, equipment and chemicals under the control of the housekeeping department.
Help maintain a positive working environment – care for colleagues’ welfare and willingly give assistance in housekeeping and other departments.
Consistently work closely with all departments to deliver seamless service.
Be willing to share knowledge to help the team achieve personal and departmental goals.
Take ownership for resolving internal customer/ department queries and complaints, working with colleagues to resolve issues and maintain a good working relationship.
Pass on all required information and ensure clear communication with team, management and colleagues e.g. Hand outs and relevant information from meetings and briefings.
Comply with hotel procedures related to financial and inventory controls at all times
Always looking for ways of controlling and minimizing waste in every day operations
Assist in stock count and inventory of housekeeping stock
Strong supervisory skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to work quickly and accurately at all times; adaptable to a range of activities in any given day – an effective team worker. prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Thorough knowledge of all hotel services and amenities; ability to provide clear directions.
Willing to study for or hold professional qualifications in housekeeping operations
Language: Required to speak, read and write English, and do basic mathematics.
Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting furniture and linen,
endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down and walking across the property able to lift, pull, push up to 35 pounds
