Production Control Scheduler

HERE’S THE JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title: Production Control Scheduler
Rate: DOE – Negotiable/Flexible
Location: Santa Clarita, CA 91335 - Onsite role for now
Duration: 1-year contract + yearly renewals and/or possible hire

Job Details:

• Plan, prepare, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material and resource requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved Production Requests (RP’s) timed to meet production requirements.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed to manufacture, assemble, and test development engines.

Relevant Experience/Requirement:

• Minimum of 3-5 years project planning experience with emphasis on production scheduling and material handling.
• Experience in rescheduling, cancelling, opening, and closing manufacturing (production) orders per MRP methodology.
• Automotive parts inventory experience highly desirable, utilizing ordering and ERP/MRP systems.

Must Haves:

• An understanding of how a Bill of Materials is developed and managed through the product life cycle, including identifying make and buy parts and revision control of parts.
• Experience developing inventory management plans.
• Understanding of inventory control principles.
• Forecasting of parts orders and demands.
• Knowledge of purchasing process. Understanding of various manufacturing/machining processes.
• Ability to read and understand parts drawings and specifications.
• Good verbal and written communication ability.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work well under pressure Time Management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to effectively interface with upper management.
• Strong computer literacy, including e-mail, Excel, and other Microsoft Office software and MRP system knowledge.

Experience with Navision Software desired.
