About This Opportunity
Rockford Construction is looking for a Mill Shop Project Manager to manage and administer the production and delivery of millwork projects. This position entails onsite coordination, quality control and all aspects of change order management.You will work closely with the shop foreman and fabricators to ensure the team has the most current plans and specifications. An excellent Mill Shop Project Manager will be well-versed in mill shop methodologies and possess a high-level understanding of procurement, custom millwork design, and the project closeout process. You will also oversee the millwork process and ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This position reports directly to the Mill Shop Manager.

+ Write and submit RFI's to the Architect and/or client's Project Manager.
+ Work closely with the client and/or Rockford's Project Manager to establish plans and specifications.
+ Work closely with the shop Manager and Estimator to establish project budget and product lead time.
+ Coordinate with Product Designer on shop drawings and proof prints.
+ Assemble and deliver submittals to client and/or client's Project Manager.
+ Keep track of inventory and purchase materials.
+ Create delivery pack list prior to product shipment to site and document packing and loading of product for delivery.
+ Organize and execute punch list with site superintendent.
+ Attend all required onsite meetings.
+ Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
+ 3+ years of project management experience in construction, millwork or related field.
+ Purchasing and inventory experience is highly preferred.
+ The ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
+ The ability to read and understand project drawings/blueprints.
+ Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms.
+ Superior oral and written communication skills to work closely with clients and the mill shop team.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with individuals of varying levels of expertise and work styles.
+ Proficient in MS Office, including strong skills in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Outlook.
+ Willingness to travel in-state (Michigan), and out of state (Indiana and Ohio). Overnight travel may be required.
+ Reliable transportation to attend jobsite meetings and coordination is an essential part of this position.
+ Familiar with construction/project management software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
+ Familiar with quality, health and mill shop safety and/or construction standards.

The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
