Job Description

 

Job Purpose:

The Plant Manager is responsible for planning and executing measures in order to ensure a workplace free of safety and environmental incidents. Drives manufacturing operations and develops strategies to fulfill customer demand with high quality and the lowest possible cost. Responsible for the planning, management and control of plant operations and production goals. Ensures commitment levels of productivity and quality, in addition of the successful execution of continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.

Requirement:

-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

-5–10 years operations leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement.

-Experience in lean culture development and lean tool implementation required.

-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization.

-High degree of credibility, integrity, and trust.

-Demonstrated success in mentoring, motivating, and coaching capable team members and teams

-Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Environment:

Air-conditioned office and non-air-conditioned plant environments. Some stress related duties due to deadlines and job duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership for the operations, warehouse, and planning teams within the Dallas facility which manufactures liquid level sensors.

-Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations consistent with company goals and objectives to attain key performance metrics and operational targets.

-Implements procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to the customer and company quality standards

-Provide direction, leadership and guidance to the staff and monitor the efficiency, knowledge and skill sets of the staff and provide the necessary guidance, training, coaching, feedback and appraisal as necessary

-Provide monthly, weekly, and ad hoc reports to senior leadership including forecasting, production scheduling, safety, product/process development and major projects/improvements

-Focus on lean manufacturing concepts and drive lean initiatives through the organization. Maintain and influence delivery performance and other key operational metrics.

-Actively drive and play a significant role in the S&OP process

Duties and Responsibilities Cont.:

-Analyze plant performance metrics through reports including direct labor efficiency, productivity, absenteeism, inventory, and backlog.

-Promote plant safety, health, and environment by ensuring that appropriate processes

programs and procedures are in place and adhered to.

-Develop a culture of continuous improvement and proactively seek ways to improve overall plant performance.

-Determine proper staffing for all plant departments and oversee the hiring and evaluation of all associates at the plant.

-Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements to cost control for staffing, production costs and related controls with the management team.

-Works closely with the Engineering and Quality Managers to ensure the needs of our customers are being met and exceeded while maintaining production levels that fall within the forecasted budget.

-Work with all levels of the employee base effectively communicating plant decisions, policies changes, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and delivers good results.

-Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

Promotes a team-oriented, collaborative environment by addressing issues in a calm, objective manner. This position may perform other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates. Duties are performed in accordance with all safety rules and regulations. Good housekeeping skills are essential to keep work area organized, free of debris and unnecessary clutter. Must be able to comply with Company attendance policies.
