Are you a passionate runner, who happens to be a physical therapist? The Pineries Running Lab is looking to expand it’s offerings in the Central Wisconsin Region and we would like you to join our team! The Pineries Running Lab, an extension of Roberts Physical Therapy, is seeking a full-time Staff Clinician at our Wisconsin Rapids clinic. This position is a hybrid position between our private practice clinic and will assist us in growing our Pineries Running Lab.

The Pineries Running Lab is geared to serve people at any point in their running journey. This means individualized injury prevention screens and training for runners of any experience level, off-season training programs for athletes, and Runner Readiness Assessments for new runners or experienced runners wanting to take the next step in their training.


Specific Responsibilities: 


Implements and Directs Patient Care: 

 

  • Assess and treat any patient that is willing to come into the clinic and would like to be seen. 
  • Assesses patients’ status via various testing procedures relevant to physical therapy, interpreting results to establish needs, develop treatment programs and establish goals. 
  • Performs all treatment within the scope of physical therapy practice, including hands on care which is an essential job function of all physical therapist. 
  • Develops, modifies, and directs the treatment program.  
  • Telehealth can be used as a supplement to clinic visits, when the patient cannot be seen in the clinic.  
  • Instructs home programs to patients and significant others. 
  • Delegates virtual visits to support staff when appropriate. 
  • Provides treatment to all age groups 


Provides Communication: 

 

    • Documents all findings of patient evaluation, patient assessment, short/long term goals, and treatment plans. 
    • Documents all interim progress and treatment changes.  
    • Completes discharge summary. 
    • Completes all associated paperwork such as Medicare and Medicaid forms.
    • Consults with medical staff members, other therapists, and all members of the medical community regarding patients to ensure a consistent level of care. 
    • Communicates with patients and significant others. 
    • Completes and maintains treatment plans. 
    • Coordinates scheduling of patient treatment within facility.
    • At the skilled nursing facility, the physical therapist is responsible for communicating findings to the patient care team to keep updated plans of care and appropriate physician orders


    Education Involvement: 

     

    • Prepares and presents education programs to any variety of groups and health professionals.
    • Participates in meetings, patient staffing, and education programs.


    Continuing Education: 

     

    • Keeps current on physical therapy practices and techniques by seeking opportunities for professional growth to maintain level of competence.


    EMR Support: 

     

      • Enter patient data (evaluation, progress notes, patient education, and discharge summary) as designated by site
      • Access patient data pertinent to referring diagnosis. 



      Job Related Duties & Responsibilities:

       

        • Assist in the growth of the Pineries Running Lab and other programs within Roberts Physical Therapy. 
        • Provides input as requested for continuous quality improvement and program development. 
        • Development of policies and procedures as assigned by other therapists. 
        • Commitment to Roberts Physical Therapy mission, vision, and values. 
        • Performs other related duties as assigned by other therapists.
        • Contributes to a safe work environment by:

          • Identifying unsafe actions or conditions 
          • Assisting in the correction of safety problems 
          • Following established safety rules and safety policies
        • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

         


        Qualifications: 


          Knowledge:

           

          • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy; preferred Doctor of Physical Therapy.
          • Additional knowledge course background in lymphedema, incontinence, TMJ disorders, sports medicine geriatric and/or pediatric therapy preferred.
          • Employee must pass a background check, which will be reviewed by Roberts Physical Therapy for substantially related convictions to the job.


          Skills: 

           

            • Those skills inherent to a graduate of physical therapy.
            • Keyboarding skills sufficient for efficient data entry and clinical notes, as well as navigation, in the clinical modules of the EMR system. 

             

            Abilities: 

             

              • Ability to communicate and work with various types of activities and people. 
              • Ability to relate to employees, patients, physicians, and all levels of management to develop and maintain effective work/patient relationships. 
              • Ability to utilize professional judgement in patient evaluation developing goals, establishment and implementation of treatment programs, evaluating patient response to treatment, and modifying accordingly.
              • Ability to identify signs and/or symptoms of potential problems/risk factors. 

               

              Licensure: 

               

                • Valid Wisconsin Physical Therapy license 
                • CPR certified on an annual basis, initial within one year of employment.
                • AED certified on an annual basis, initially within one year of employment. 

                 

                Working Conditions: 

                 

                  • Works in lighted, heated, air-conditioned facility. 
                  • Works with infections/hazardous materials occasionally.
                  • Works directly with patients.  


                  Physical Demands: 

                   

                    • Daily standing, sitting, walking, bending, squatting. 
                    • Requires a light/medium work level with lifting 35# infrequently, 20# or less frequently.
