We are looking for an Enrolled Agent to provide tax representation and administrative support for our clients. We help individuals and small businesses resolve their IRS tax disputes so that they can move on with their lives and businesses.
The Enrolled Agent will work in a team environment to manage a caseload of clients and attempt to reach the most beneficial resolution for our clients with the IRS. He or she will review IRS notices and correspondence and keep track of deadlines, prepare client financial information and audit documentation and present it to the IRS.
A smaller but significant portion of this person’s duties will include administrative support. Tasks will include maintain the Firm’s customer relationship management database software, managing incoming calls, scanning incoming mail, managing email correspondence, proofreading, preparing and sending out documents and correspondence, and data entry. These tasks are expected to be temporary.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to work hard, maintain a positive attitude, make well-thought-out suggestions at the appropriate times and be able to follow agreed policies and procedures. He or she will be good at problem solving, have good listening skills, be in alignment with our core philosophy, be detail-oriented, systematic, creative, good-natured, emotionally secure, patient, optimistic, flexible, and know when to lead and when to follow. We are also looking for someone with above-average-ability to learn and adapt as our business grows and takes on new dimensions.
The successful applicant will be a licensed Enrolled Agent with at least one to five years of tax resolution experience. They will also have a demonstrated ability to communicate well with clients and negotiate with IRS officials to reach the best possible resolutions for our clients. They should be knowledgeable about IRS collections, examinations, innocent spouse, offers-in-compromise, installment agreements, appeals, and penalty abatement. They should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have excellent multitasking and organizational skills and have experience with a client management database and tax preparation software. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field are preferred.
