Tax Senior Manager

Excellent opportunity to join our Financial Services client as their Senior Manager of Tax. In this position you will be responsible for leading the tax department and overseeing the compliance and filings of all areas of taxation. This role will be reporting to the Principal Accounting Officer.
Responsibilities include:
US and international income tax planning and strategy, accounting for income taxes and GAAP financial disclosures, federal and state income tax compliance, sales and use taxes, personal property taxes, international tax compliance, and oversight of K-1 preparation.
Develops ongoing federal, state, and international income tax planning and research with respect to the company's global business operations and maintain a consistent tax strategy.
Effectively implements change in the organization is capable of handling, to build realistic goals and implementation plans that are achievable and successful
Maintains an understanding of the company's business developments, investments, activities, and business strategies, and advise senior leadership on various tax planning strategies to improve shareholder value
Builds strong relationship with key stakeholders and peers across the company, including senior management, account, finance, and partner.
Monitor new tax laws and determine impact to the business and advise on any necessary actions.
Effectively communicate tax objectives, developments, and strategies to company leadership.
Regularly communicate with leadership and continually improve tax related processes and operational plans
Provide oversight and accountability overall company tax affairs, including compliance, accounting for income taxes, technical research, process improvement, and risk and controls assessment.
Manage all tax reporting requirements and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines.
Maintain partnership equity and capital account schedules
Oversees the relationship with external Tax firm for the preparation and filing of all federal, state and K-1 returns.
Responsible for all quarterly partner communication on expected tax distributions.
Responsible for the accuracy of the Company's quarterly and annual income tax provision.
Manage all tax audits and examinations.
Successful Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field plus a CPA or master's degree in taxation
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or tax department at a medium/large company
History of leading income tax provision reporting for complex organizations
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal, multi-state tax principles and partnership filings
Relevant and hands on experience identifying, developing and executing tax planning strategies
Ability to articulate tax concepts to both tax personnel and non-tax personnel, including our chief financial officer, chief accounting officer, and other executives
Requirements
BS Degree in Accounting or related field
CPA or MST preferred
10 years of relevant work experience in Big 4/Top 7 Accounting Firm and/or tax department at a medium/large company (will look at straight public)
History of leading income tax provision reporting for complex organizations
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal, multi-state tax principles and partnership filings(Must have K1s and partnership tax experience) they are owned by a PE firm
Ability to articulate tax concepts to both tax personnel and non-tax personnel, including our chief financial officer, chief accounting officer, and other executives

Position will be 100% remote for now and likely through end of year - TBD. Likely be a hybrid model with some office and remote working in the future. Please note there will be some travel to their office in DC and possibly California.
In addition to the base there is a bonus of up to 20% for this position.
