Established client located in Woodland Hills area is seeking a Tax Manager to join our tax department. The successful candidate will assist the Tax Director with the preparation and review of annual tax returns, compliance, analysis and research of all tax related transactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with preparation and review of annual tax returns
Researching and responding to tax notices
Corresponding with Federal and State taxing agencies
Processing tax returns and handling payments
Assist in the review of large portfolio partnership returns
Preparing state apportionment schedules for all investment funds
Matching returns to internal models
Confirmation of tax credits
Reviewing book-tax differences on Schedule M-1 and M-3
Reviewing accuracy of the tax capital balance per the K-1's, model and work papers
Review special allocations
Identify extraordinary transactions, such as gains and losses and cancellation of debt income
Other duties, as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in preparing annual state and federal tax returns for partnerships and LLC's engaged in the real estate industry.
Affordable housing experience a plus.
CPA with experience working for a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm required;
Combination of public accounting and industry experience is preferable.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, agreements, financial documents and governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and internet and tax preparation software.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting or equivalent.
