Job Description

North Dallas corporate is seeking to add an EHS Counsel to their team who will be an integral member of the Legal Department, reporting directly to the General Counsel. In this role, you will be responsible for a diverse array of substantive projects and matters with long-term business implications, managing complex issues within your area of expertise, and contributing to the overall business strategy, including:

  • Provide leadership on EHS aspects of commercial transactions, product development and product safety, and review and negotiate commercial contract terms and conditions with customers, partners and suppliers;
  • Support environmental due diligence and negotiation of EHS contract terms for business acquisitions, divestitures and property transactions;
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new and emerging HSE laws;
  • Manage outside litigation, if necessary, in a cost-effective manner to achieve business objectives;
  • Conduct training and provide regulatory updates on EHS legal developments and risks;
  • Work closely with other legal functional teams (e.g., compliance, litigation, sourcing) to support related matters

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize tasks and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent through each task performed

- Excellent academic credentials and references

- Licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

- Occupational Safety experience highly preferred

- Comprehensive knowledge of Licensed Attorney

- Demonstrated knowledge of Regulatory Policies

- Corporate law experience

- Adeptness in regulatory compliance

- Expertise in corporate

- Practical knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

- Regulatory Affairs experience

- General familiarity with environmental law

- Proficiency in corporate & commercial

- Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills
