If you're looking to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful service company, Robert Half Finance is looking for a Controller. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Los Angeles, California area. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role.

This position is for candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Your responsibilities in this role - Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities Job Requirements: - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is required - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills - CPA required - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - Ability to meet deadlines - General ledger experience desired - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus FOR IMMEDIATE CONFIDENTIAL CONSIDERATION please apply directly.
