Their focus is on identifying and investing in rapidly growing, late stage, venture capital-backed private companies. They aim to redefine growth investing, just as "the Valley" has transformed the world of business.Team:· The team runs very lean and the accounting is all handled by the CFO and this person.· Therefore, a very hands-on mentality is required.· They have an Office Manager who handles AP, but everything above that will be handled by this person and the CFO.· Besides the accounting department, the firm has 2 Investment professionals, a CEO, and Office ManagerPosition Responsibilities:· Manage the quarterly reviews and year-end external audits of the fund and adherence to SEC filing deadlines· Coordinate accounting and performance calculation and financial reporting processes, reviewing all data and ensuring any misstatements are resolved prior to final review· Review and track portfolio company financials, capitalization tables, and liquidity needs· Develop and maintain valuation models to allow internal quarterly valuation of portfolio companies, including coordination with the independent valuation firm· Perform reviews of fund legal documents, audited financial statements and documents related to the back office operations and compliance of prospective and existing investment managers· Prepare press releases, materials and presentations for Board of Directors and Audit Committee meetings· Liaise with investment professionals, legal counsel, and various service providers· Ad hoc reporting and analyses as requested from management team and Board of DirectorsRequirementsKey Requirements:· Public/Private mix· MUST come from Big4 or mid-tier public accounting firm and MUST have worked on publicly traded companies and handled the 10K 10Q filings· CPA strongly preferred· MUST now work in an Asset Management firm (either VC, PE or HF) and handle fund accounting and financial reporting· MUST possess Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting· Demonstrated aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives· The client (CFO) wants a sharp go-getter who is aiming to be in her job one dayFor more information or an expedited hiring process please send updated resume to Charlie O'Brien at Charlie.Obrien@roberthalffs.comRobert Half Finance & Accounting matches skilled finance and accounting professionals in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more on a full-time basis.
