Job Description: Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions of Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.), the Program Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of strategic and transformational programs that support the business strategy for all new and existing lines of business. They will lead the day-to-day collaboration of business and IT teams to establish and deliver a new end-to-end underwriting, billing and claims platform. The right candidate will have extensive experience in delivering large-scale strategic and transformational programs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Ideal candidate has worked in a commercial insurance market leading the implementation of platform-based solutions such as CRM, Policy, Billing and Claims systems and has exceptional program management skills required to effectively drive overall scope, budget, resources and risk & issue management. This role will be directly accountable for implementing the vision and strategic roadmap for all core functions (Underwriting, Billing, Claims, Operations, and Analytics) and for ensuring the project team delivers within scope and budget. Candidate will be responsible for planning and coordination of all project-related activities and resources. Role will also be responsible for managing and tracking project financials, risks, issues, and communication plan. If you’re an innovative thought leader with a passion for technology, ability to collaborate and drive alignment across functions, and who is excited about the challenge of striving to achieve challenging goals, then join our team and let’s build something great together.Job Responsibilities:Oversee the coordination, day-to-day management, status reporting and execution for the programUtilize accepted project and program management processes and methodologies to ensure program is delivered on time, within budget, meeting business and technology expectations and adhering to high quality standards.Build and drive data-driven work plans leveraging both internal and external vendor resources.Deliver and realize measurable value for the program, developing value realization measurement plans with appropriate leadership checkpoints.Strong ability to communicate effectively and appropriately on a business and/or technical level as required.Ability to manage project teams across multiple locations including potential international locations or teams.Ability to navigate various dimensions and challenges related to large business transformation programs.Partner with IT Application Platform Team to ensure ongoing operational support for new solutions.Maintain a working knowledge of the current IT trends and technologies in the industry.Manage the relationship and communication with all internal/external project stakeholders.Perform risk/issue management and appropriate management of critical dependencies, escalating items as appropriate to leadership for timely resolution.Work closely with business and technical executives to understand and enhance the company’s operating model and commercial objectives and how they translate into efficient and standardized business processes and platforms.Accountable for delivery of the platform business capabilities vision and strategy, communicating to the business and ensuring alignment with the overall program plan. Qualifications and Experience: Executive-level business acumen in business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required. 10+ years of program/project management experience and delivering business and IT transformation and process improvement projects within the insurance market. Experience implementing technology solutions for policy administration, agent-facing portals, UW workbench, risk analysis and pricing, underwriting file capabilities is preferred. Experience with commercial-off-the-shelf or SaaS policy administration systems (e.g. Guidewire, DuckCreek, Majesco), document production or rating engine software is preferred. A strong expertise applying the system development life cycle to deliver large, transformational programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively with vendors, clients, peers, and IT management and staff. Proven track record of leading target operating model initiatives with substantial positive business results. Demonstrated problem-solving skills: identifying opportunities for improvement, applying a disciplined approach to determine root cause, then creating and implementing appropriate and practical corrective actions. Strong relationship management skills. This person will work across a large group of stakeholders, including involvement with some outside partners, demanding strong interpersonal skills, influence management and written/oral communication skills. Strong influencer with an ability to translate business concepts in a manner that is easily understood by the IT teams. A high degree of conscientiousness and a strong sense of responsibility and service orientation.
