RiverView Health has an opening for a full-time Care Center Director of Nursing. The Director of Nursing is under the direct supervision of the Care Center Administrator. This position is responsible for directing, upgrading and maintaining the nursing service to all residents through the supervision and administration of the nursing service activities. The Director of Nursing has direct supervision of all staff levels within the nursing department, completes employee evaluations, appropriately communicates staffing concerns with the Administrator and does a timely follow-up in hiring and or termination, and provides for staff development.
The Director of Nursing prepares and implements the nursing philosophy, policies, objectives, and procedures; monitors the health and status of all resident; monitors resident care conferences; establishes realistic goals; encourages a record keeping system that complies with regulations; develops, interprets, insures, implements, and evaluates quality assurance practices. Participates in planning and monitoring of the budget as it relates to nursing; complies with regulations set by the Minnesota Department of Health and other regulatory agencies; supervises Case Mix reimbursement as it relates to assessment of care needs. Staff scheduling; develops and monitors staffing schedules, monitors employees working time, PTO and authorized overtime as appropriate.
+ Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
+ Minimum of three years experience in the field of nursing with at least one year of experience working in long-term care.
+ Current American Heart CPR certification. If not currently certified must be obtained within first 4 months of employment.
+ Baccalaureate Degree in nursing or related field and two years supervisory experience with demonstrated administrative ability and professional experience that includes a broad knowledge of nursing concepts including gerontology, rehabilitation, and mental health.
