Claims Specialist

The candidate will be responsible for Investigating and processing household goods claims in a timely manner.

Recovery of contractual subrogation monies from carriers if applicable to insurance contracts. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: + Review each claim and decide actions necessary to investigate and process the claim in an accurate and timely manner + Utilize the service of preferred repair firm service providers for the assessment of damages + Work with moving companies to obtain inventories and documents, and to trace for missing items + Settle the claim by working directly with the customer + Recover monies from the moving companies for claims that have a subrogation component + Work with daily reports to keep track of and manage claims that are currently in process + Document each action that takes place on a claim in a database that allows client contacts to monitor the progress of the claim Requirements + Minimum of 3 years in a claims or customer service position + PC experience required, including data entry, Word and Excel + Obtain adjuster's license in those states requiring licensing + Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
