Outside Salesperson – Structural Steel Sales

We are looking for a competitive Outside Salesperson to develop sales strategies and attract new structural steel customers. Position will source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve structural steel sales metrics. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing sales by managing and negotiating with customers, generating leads and qualifying prospects. This role requires working knowledge of structural steel products, fabrication and new home builds.

Job Responsibilities

· Ability to produce structural steel takeoffs specifically related to structural steel beams, columns and accessories for new residential home builds

· Work with the Fabrication Team on customer expectations to determine cost, timing and production needs

· Ability to conduct contract negotiations with national and local home builders

· Responsibly for the marketing and sale of structural steel products to new and existing customers within the Denver Front Range area

· Responsible for building relationships with new and existing customers

· Increase sales and division revenue in structural steel products and other building materials

· Establish new sales accounts through cold calling and personal visits to potential customer sites (no overnight travel required)

· Offering a full range of products and services to new and current customers, including other specialty products lines and the sale of equipment

· Coordinating with all division departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

· Education customers on structural steel related equipment and products through verbal and written communication

· Network with other industry professionals

· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations; and comply with government safety requirements and policies

· Conduct sales negotiation with customers to obtain the appropriate market price for both the company and customer

· Monitor the sales industry to identify changes in customer demand and preference

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· 2-4 years of selling and application experience in structural steel products

· Ability to demonstrate successful sales techniques with new and existing customers

· Strong knowledge in structural steel, new residential home builds and the estimation process.

· Strong planning, problem solving and negotiation skills

· Ability to effectively manage customer expectations in/out of standard core business hours

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Proficient in Word and Excel

· Knowledge of construction or related construction equipment preferred

· Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Is Preferred

· Bilingual strongly preferred - English / Spanish

Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
