Senior Technical Research Advisor

RHA is an established industry leader in designing innovative programs to help conserve energy. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Research Advisor to join our Chico, CA office. You will work alongside company leaders to direct a team of technical and administrative staff to deliver timely, cost-effective solutions. Our specialty is being able to successful design and deploy solutions that have never been done before.
The Senior Technical Research Advisor will be a subject matter expert for technical projects within the energy efficiency Technical Services team. This role will be responsible for reviewing and approving technical information integral to RHA deliverables. The position requires depth and diversity of skills in the areas of building science, construction materials, specifications and practices, building codes and standards, and field experience in the residential and light commercial construction or energy conservation industry.

+ Maintain subject matter expertise in published standards, construction materials and practices, building and energy codes, and technical journals in support of program/project development
+ Develop, review and approve technical standards, installation requirements, studies and other relevant research projects
+ Provide technical expertise in the designing, development and deployment of pilot programs
+ Represent Technical Services by responding to complex technical questions from RHA internal departments, weatherization crews, trainers, and clientele
+ Represent RHA Technical Services in client meetings
+ Provide consultation to industry clients on the development and deployment of shared standards
+ Provide recommendations on industry best practices and applicable codes
+ Develop, review and approve technical manuals based on relevant industry standards
+ Approve curriculum materials
+ Design field studies such as performing testing and inspections; apply results to technical documents
+ Maintain subject matter expertise on emerging technologies, new measure opportunities and best practices as needed for proposal development and program design
+ Assist in the development of new technical staff through mentoring
+ Bachelor's degree or five years of relevant experience in construction management, engineering or related energy efficiency field may be substituted for a degree.
