Warehouse Manager – Madison, WI
Reports to: Director Logistics and Operations
Date: September 29, 2022
Reporting to the Director of Warehouse Operations, the Warehouse Manager performs functions to plan, coordinate, and manage product handling and shipping and receiving activities to ensure that product is properly stored, and customer orders are processed and shipped.
Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
Manage the warehouse infrastructure, work environment, and personnel to ensure that product conformity can be achieved under clean, safe, and efficient operating conditions. Maintain warehouse infrastructure.
Manage the flow and quality of work in the warehouse to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
Develop new and improved procedures or work methods with the Director of Warehouse Operations.
Ensure that all warehouse personnel are competent, aware, and properly trained to perform their jobs and that their primary goal is customer satisfaction.
Take immediate action to eliminate or isolate unsafe conditions within the warehouse or on the buildings and grounds to prevent worker injury.
Management of the daily warehouse operations to ensure material is received, stored and shipped in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Recruiting and supervising sufficient staffing to ensure all warehousing functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Oversight and management of logistics associated with assigned warehouse and utilized to transport materials to customers and internal facilities.
Support facilities and equipment operationally to ensure facility and equipment is operational and functioning as intended both in warehouse and office locations.
As needed engage suppliers to support the flow of materials, resolve discrepancies and provide information as may be required.
1-2+ years of experience in distribution/warehouse management, preferred.
Additional training or coursework in supply chain management or other business-related areas, helpful.
Experience managing a team of personnel, helpful.
