Business Development Manager, Municipal Control Systems

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

This position is with our Municipal Division and is responsible for meeting orders’ goals from assigned accounts and/or territory while achieving satisfactory margin performance at the time of order entry. As a Business Development Manager, you will sell the full portfolio of Revere services within the assigned territory or accounts in support of the Company’s growth strategy. You will maintain an active sales funnel of opportunities that are approximately 3 times the sales goal for each Line of Business. All opportunities will be maintained with status updates, at least monthly, using the Company’s CRM system and in association with the Company’s monthly order forecast process. You will need to have experience with the Water/Wastewater Industry and demonstrate an understanding of customer business drivers, project development, and funding practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Achieve the annually assigned orders plan for projects and each of the Revere Lines of Business or Divisions
  2. Develop new opportunities regularly, and record them thoroughly in the company CRM system
  3. Execute a documented plan that produces frequent contact with strategic and focus customers
  4. Develop thorough contact data for accounts in the Company CRM system and enter new ones several times per month
  5. Identify potential opportunities through networking, frequent customer contact, industry publications and Revere’s Lead Development process
  6. Develop a network of customers and partners who will provide leads and insights that fosters a competitive advantage for Revere
  7. Be responsible for gaining the necessary knowledge to effectively engage customers technically and commercially on matters important to their respective industries
  8. Coordinate with estimators and engineering; provide thorough and accurate information necessary for the development of competitive proposals
  9. Maintain knowledge of Revere’s sales strategies and execute on those strategies every week
  10. Develop a process to follow-up on all quotes, and understand and record reasons for wins and losses
  11. Produce two to four customer testimonials every year
  12. Function as a customer advocate in routing information and responding to customer needs within the Revere entire organization
  13. Prepare and submit accurate and timely business expense reports
  14. Execute periodic 12 / year NPS feedback Sessions
  15. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Revere Control Systems’ estimating functions and requirements and contribute as needed to the process
  16. Estimate accurately forecast monthly orders performance
  17. Responsible for reviewing job estimates and quotations for assigned customers and assure that estimates/quotations are consistent with Revere’s profit-margin standards
  18. Review comparison of completed job to estimated job information
  19. Help select and actively participate in key trade show events
  20. Direct the plan for marketing contact for the assigned accounts

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Water Industry Experience in engineering, operations, or consulting
  2. Degreed Electrical Engineer with 2 years’ experience OR 5 years’ experience in the controls field
  3. Knowledgeable of controls field and relevant application requirements
  4. Working knowledge of sales principles and practices
  5. Knowledgeable of latest industry application methods (software/networking/equipment) and PLCs
  6. Basic computer literacy – Microsoft Office, e-mail, estimating programs
  7. Knowledgeable of estimating and quoting process
  8. Strong sales personality – outgoing, energetic, positive, assertive, expressive, follow-through, self-starter, resilient, responsible

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Longer hours, evenings and weekend work will frequently be necessary.
