Security Officer Day Shift 7am - 3:30pm

 STATUS:                      Non-Exempt, hourly, full-time, 30 hours or more per week

REPORTS TO:              Plant Operations Director & Lead Security Officer

 GENERAL SUMMARY:

 The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Responsible for verifying the scheduled presence of all employees, and third party contractors on the grounds.

Primary Job Duties:

1. Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.

1. Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.

1. Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.  

1. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Secondary Job Duties:

 Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.

1. Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
2. Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.

1. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Other Duties:    Applicable to all employees:

2. Observes all safety rules and regulations.
3. HIPAA Compliance – Follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.
4. OIG Compliance – Follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.
5. Interacts with residents and co-workers in a friendly and respectful manner.
6. Other duties as assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

 Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.

1. One year experience in security preferred.
2. Wears appropriate non-slip footwear.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to walk 90% of the workday; ability to stoop and stretch occasionally; may be exposed to the HBV and HIV virus.
