Job Description

Remi, a PartsSource company, is looking to hire a full time Divisional Controller to join our dynamic team in the Charlotte, NC office located in Waverly at the intersection of Providence Road & I485. This is a great opportunity for someone to lead a small team that has a big impact on the operations of the accounting and finance department.

The Divisional Controller reports to the Corporate Controller and will produce and own all financial reporting to stakeholders and group management; assist in the corporate accounting, business planning, and budgeting efforts of the company; and lead special projects of business reporting and analysis to support the CEO and other decision-makers

What You'll Do

  • Provide support, direction, management, and continuous coaching both directly and indirectly to the Accounting and Vendor Payables teams
  • Act as a technical accounting resource to operational accounting team and other departments
  • Collaborate and guide operational department leaders to ensure smooth process flow and accurate reporting output
  • Identify and assist in establishing and implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Prepare month end financial package provided to senior management team and private equity ownership, including internal budget reporting and external consolidated reporting, as well as, monthly and quarterly reports required by outside agencies
  • Manage the monthly financial statement close process and oversight of the preparation and review process
  • Ensure that all new business processes with financial impact are accounted for and recorded in accordance with the applicable accounting guidance
  • Review and prepare year-end financial statement audit support and coordination with external auditors
  • Review and ensure financial records are maintained in accordance generally accepted accounting standards

You Will Also

  • Evaluate and refine the reporting process and information systems of the company to support financial reporting and budgeting requirements
  • Analyze financial statements and data to identify and propose process improvements in business operations and controls
  • Coordinate, design, and lead changes to automate and improve financial and management information systems for the company
  • Drive process improvement and optimization of reporting framework, including refinement of the entity's control environment
  • Lead and execute other special projects as assigned by Corporate Controller and CEO

What You'll Bring

  • Perspective with strong customer service, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Adaptable to change and can function well individually or in a team environment
  • Experience in automated financial and accounting reporting systems, including hands-on experience of making entries, reporting, and reconciling
  • Experience in accrual accounting, specifically unearned revenue and deferred expense
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Experience working with outside auditors
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects

Your Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required; an MBA is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred
  • Five (5) years of accounting experience, with at least three (3) years of experience managing direct reports
  • Public accounting experience a plus
