Job Description

Summary/ Objective:
 
The Transformer Service Project Manager is responsible for promoting sales and results of the full product spectrum in their designated region, paying particular attention to strategic guidelines and business sustainability; and is particularly responsible for customer satisfaction in their region.
 This position oversees the company's North American service activities/functions - such as execution, quality control and assurance, product costs, workflow, purchasing, materials management and logistics. The TSM will ensure that all service operations fall within established budgets

 

Essential Functions     :

 

Strategic Task:

  • Definition of the transformer service business strategy in cooperation with the sales organization
  • Initiation of product and service innovations with relation to transformer service market developments
  • Responsibility for the necessary business processes incl. personnel qualification, offer and order processing etc.
  • Operative Tasks:
  • Tender management and offer preparation for complex transformer service projects
  • Leadership of the assigned employees
  • Close collaboration with and technical support of the Area Sales Managers
  • Selection of and negotiation with subcontractors
  • Administrative Task:
  • Resource and personnel planning in connection with the transformer service business strategy
  • Securing offer preparation and follow up.
  • Compilation of periodic reports (e.g. forecasts, market and customer information, KPIs).
  • Assistance with sales and budget planning

Special Task:

  • Assisting with and/or managing internal and intra-divisional projects
  • Developing and establishing sales teams & appropriate representatives (selection, qualifications, etc.)
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a transformer service business
  • Practical field experience in transformer installation, testing, vacuum oil processing, maintenance & repair

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is a Managerial role.

 

Work Environment:
 
This role is primarily a traveling outside maintenance position.   Off-site work at customer sites will be required causing exposure to extreme environment elements & conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

 

Physical Demands:
 
This is largely a physical role with frequent need for handling and lifting of equipment to repair, test, & assemble.  Climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting is necessary.   Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs is required.  

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
 
This is a full-time position, working a minimum of 40+ hours per week.

   

Travel:
 
This position is 70-80 % travel with overnight & some overseas travel required.
