Executive Director Perioperative Services

We are currently seeking an experienced Executive Director, Surgical Services to join our leadership team to provide leadership and oversight in the day-to-day operations of comprehensive services for the surgical division. As an academic hospital in partnership with University Tennessee Health Science Center, we are a recognized leader in cutting-edge research, innovation, and care. This is a great opportunity to work with an outstanding team. Regional One Health is designated a Level I trauma center for Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. We have the region's only burn center verified by the American Burn Association. Centers of Excellence include trauma, burn, neonatal intensive care, and high-risk obstetrics.

Working under the administrative and strategic direction of the Chief Operating Officer of Regional One Health, and in alignment with the CMO, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction and administration of operations, planning, fiscal viability of OR, Surgical Services and Sterile Processing Departments within Regional One Health. This Executive Director works to ensure the delivery of quality patient care services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. In addition, all departments must comply with all organization, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and practices. Collaborates with other department leaders concerning cross-functional topics or issues and promotes and educational development for OR/Surgical Services staff.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or equivalent degree required.

Experience Requirement:
Five (5) years of director level experience in a perioperative environment required. Minimum of five (5) years of OR perioperative nursing experience preferred. Experience in a teaching environment strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee required. CNOR certification preferred.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Apprises the Chief Operating Officer of Regional One Health of all activities, pertinent changes in internal/external market, threats and opportunities in a timely and anticipatory manner and presents action plans for immediate implementation/approval.

Organizational Leadership and Strategic Direction

Manages the various Regional One Health databases and information platforms regarding covered lives.
Fully and effectively utilize the health information data to create basic analytics around the management of covered lives.
Plan, direct and monitor strategies to ensure the successful direction or redirection of patient care based on identified analytic platforms.
Provides administrative leadership to promote a collaborative and productive environment working toward common, practice-wide strategic goals. Creates and/or cultivates existing community based alliances and partnerships to further the strategic and financial sustainability of the organization's Innovation Center.
Provides leadership and resource assistance to internal partners and physician members to promote a collaborative environment that stimulates innovative thinking.
Reviews and recommends for approval proposed new clinical service capabilities and/or products.
Serves as primary representative of the organization's Center for Healthcare Innovation to internal and external entities, agencies, and organizations to identify, reduce, and eliminate barriers that may negatively impact a patient centered and customer focused service environment.
Promotes a model of patient care that incorporates best practices, current trends and most effective resource allocations
Operations

Reviews and approves all Center policies and performance guidelines in collaboration with the internal leaders and executive partnership.
Establishes a system to consistently monitor performance against established benchmarks. Review reports regularly and provides action plans when necessary and required.
Establishes systems, processes and methodologies to ensure effective resource utilization, define required productivity and data capture of work effort, outcomes, patient satisfaction and quality metrics.
Establishes guidelines/parameters for Center contracts with affiliated entities, academic institutions and healthcare providers to negotiate and execute all professional service contracts.
Coordinates with relevant compliance officers and legal counsel to maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations and standards to ensure compliance with relevant legal issues.
Financial & HR Management

Provides executive level oversight in managing the Division’s financial resources.
Determines and makes recommendations regarding HR needs for Center related products, projects and activities, including recommendations.
Develops and implements revenue driven product designs to promote Center’s fiscal stability
Ensures the Division’s marketability and image is consistently above reproach, and assists in providing presentations and training and education to various community partners to promote the Division’s products, programs and services
Manages the implementation of approved changes and monitors data for cost savings, program outcomes, patient satisfaction, and physician engagement.
Leads development of the annual operating plan and budget.
Practice Development
Contributes to coordinating all contract negotiations between external entities, institutions and subcontracted service providers.
Works collaboratively with academic clinical department chairs and/or clinical chiefs to develop short- and long-term marketing plans consistent with the Division’s strategic plan and within defined business and financial boundaries.
Develops relationships within the community to enhance the organization and partnership physician enterprise brand.
