The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in the management and delivery of nursing services to maintain quality standards of care, and advise medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing service. In the absence of the DON, assumes responsibility for nursing management. This includes but is not limited to areas of nursing administration; personnel administration; employee recruitment and retention; staff development; family, resident, and community relations; and other duties/responsibilities assigned by the DON or the facility Administrator. The ADON must be capable of assuming the DON position in his/her absence.
Responsible to assist in the planning, organization, direction, supervision and evaluation of all the nursing services provided in the facility. Ensures nursing department compliance with federal, state and local regulations and implementation of Villa nursing core programs. Ensures maintenance of records and reports concerning resident care. Ensures the orientation and training of nursing services personnel. Manages the Nursing Service department within budget. Follows all Villa policies and procedures and JACHO standards where applicable.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Current RN license with the state.
Experience: Prefer previous ADON experience of at least three years.
