Part-time Substance Abuse / Mental Health Group Facilitator

Position Overview:

While providing group therapy, participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning by developing assessments and appropriate mode of therapy to assist client with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical substance abuse and/or mental health therapy to clients as scheduled in a group setting.

• Actively participate as a positive member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Responsible for providing group and individual treatment as directed by supervisor.

• Complete accurate clinical documentation same day as date of service.

• Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.

• Provides and attends in-service training as needed.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage Family, Counseling or relative field, from an accredited college or university.

• Two or more years of experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse field preferred.

• Strong computer skills required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.

• Strong assessment skills.

• Working knowledge of twelve-step programs of recovery.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals.

• Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
