Metering System Specialist

Position Description

The Metering System Specialist will work from home and at the customer’s facilities to support the GSA Advanced Metering System. The role of the Meter System Specialist is to ensure the Advanced Metering System is fully operational, reporting accurately and to use metering system data to improve facility energy performance.  Responsibilities will include technical support throughout the U.S. to troubleshoot metering system hardware and network problems in GSA facilities; coordinating network configuration and repair with GSA IT; developing scopes of work and construction management to repair meters and data networks; GSA customer support related to meter system issues.

The candidate will augment existing customer capabilities, work in a team framework, and be an advocate to facilitate energy and cost savings. 

Minimum Experience, Education and Credentials include:

• BS in engineering or equivalent related experience
• 4 years of experience in facility engineering or management.
• Strong knowledge of metering system hardware and communication systems.
• Knowledge of IT data systems and networks.
• Engineering project development, project scope development, construction management.
• Well-developed verbal and technical report writing skills.
• Working knowledge of standard office computer software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
