Redhorse Corporation is currently seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Services (SETA) to the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). The CDAO is tasked with the acceleration of the DoD's adoption of data, analytics, and AI to generate decision advantage across, from the boardroom to the battlefield. The work location for this position is in the National Capital Region (NCR) with the possibility of up to 25% travel.

Major Duties for the Cloud Solutions Architect include but are not limited to:
    • Inspects legacy software applications to determine viability of AI applications.
    • Responsible for designing, consolidating, and integrating computer networks and advanced networking solutions, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), service provider networks, Enterprise Networks, Data centers for the build out of a platform and infrastructure that effectively support processing of AI/ML workloads and delivering scalable AI capabilities.
    • Ensures that the consortium members are proposing and working towards a common interoperable technical vision.
    • Identifies high level architectures and design patterns best suited to a complex multi-vendor, multi-organization environment.
    • Identifies technical risks and mitigation strategies.
    • Leads the design of extensive multi-tier architectures with various levels of enabling platforms and technologies and the design of API and data standards.
    • Performs network and security assessment, including gap analysis using information gathering tools.
    • Creates relevant documentation, such as diagrams, detailed assessments, and design document.
    • Inspects legacy software applications to determine how new AI components or features can be developed and integrated.
    • Designs and implements high-availability and multi-layer secure network infrastructures
    • Develops new concepts for AI service delivery and automation.
    • Investigates, designs, and deploys new network technologies.
    • Ensures compliance of network infrastructure to global standards.
    • Assists in the evaluation of new products and services; makes recommendations for improvements and assists in the development and documentation of network architecture.
    • Performs capacity and resource planning.
    • Works with CFT team members, working groups and committees to provide senior level technical direction, leadership, and guidance in the accomplishment of challenging tasks including the operational use of AI (both ML and non-ML)
    • Initiates and develops methods to assess the end-to-end systems performance using operational measurements or other available test beds in order that end-to-end performance objectives are met.
    • Serves as a senior technical advisor in formulating the technical approaches, selection of the tools, diagnostics methods for solving the customer problems utilizing artificial intelligence in a timely manner.
    • Visits field installations, research and development or commercial organizations to obtain or exchange complex technical information.
    • Serves as a representative for agency-wide Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
    • Ensures all the functional and performance analysis models developed reflect the operational performance requirements.

Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials include:
    • US citizen with an active Secret government clearance. Applicants who are not US Citizens and who do not have a current and active Secret security clearance will not be considered for this role.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field is required.
    • A range of four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience is required.
    • Strong knowledge of proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
    • Experience with network design/development and design of API and data standards
    • Great technical writing skills
    • Experienced in Python programming
    • Familiarity and understanding of:
    • o Joint Information Environment (JIE) solution architectures and concepts
    • o Routing design and protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc.)
    • o Software Defined Networking
    • o Networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
    • o Data Center and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV)
    • o VDI, Remove Access, Cross Domain Solutions, DevSecOps
    • o QoS, Traffic Engineering
