The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Market Development Representative to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you'll be responsible for working with the Marketing and Sales teams to contact prospective sales leads, qualify them, and set appointments for sales teams and solutions architects. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing team and be part of a new strategic initiative within the Red Hat Sales and Marketing teams.

  • Acquire net-new logos and grow existing accounts through strategic prospecting methods
  • Qualify leads and set appointments for the Sales team
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to uncover sales leads in new territories through targeted emails and cold calls
  • Identify customer business needs and communicate how Red Hat’s offerings can address those needs; collaborate with the Sales team on account strategy, demand generation activities, delivery plans, and results
  • Make extensive use of innovative prospecting techniques to evangelize Red Hat, generate customer interest, and provide a targeted value proposition
  • Educate prospective customers on the value of open source technology and the Red Hat’s portfolio of offerings
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat's technology, solutions, pricing, and licensing procedure

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or a related field of study
  • 5-10 years of experience in lead generation, sales, market development, or information systems
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, competitive, and creative environment
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and systems like (SFDC),, or predictive modeling
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work and learn on your own as well as on a team
  • Ability to understand customer needs and problems and link them to a set of Red Hat’s offerings
  • Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels within an organization
  • Skilled at presenting and demonstrating
  • Motivated with the ability to work under pressure
