Quality Assurance Technician

Summary:  Responsible for participating in the quality assurance efforts for the coffee and tea production facility in accordance with company and federal food safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Complete day-to-day documentation/activities supporting our company’s quality and food safety standards including monthly GMP and glass/plastic audits, Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), implementation and use of Safefood 360, and SQF Food Safety/Quality Codes for Manufacturing and Distribution
2. Provide support to QA technician(s) in daily lab and production duties/activities as needed. Fill in for vacationing employees in the QA Department (may require working alternate job tasks and shifts). 
3. Inventory and ordering of QA/lab and chemical supplies. Verification and maintenance of the safety data sheet notebooks. Lab equipment calibration and maintenance. Point of contact to the service contract providers for the food safety/quality programs.
4. Customer complaint investigation and follow up as needed with production, maintenance, and customer service
5. Serve as a system administrator (user setup, annual training, monthly/annual reports) on the computer-based food safety training program for the company
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

6. Knowledge of lab testing skills, methods, and equipment.

8. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in food science and three-years’ experience in manufacturing/quality assurance with coffee/tea and/or dairy/beverage experience helpful. 

Licenses or Certifications Preferred: HACCP Certified, SQF Practitioner Certified, PCQI Certificate.
