Position Title: Head of Manufacturing & Distribution

We are a fully licensed indoor cultivation, manufacturing and distribution operation in the city of North Hollywood and are looking to hire a Head of Manufacturing & Distribution Department. We are looking for driven, responsible, hardworking candidate who can work well as a team. The Head of Manufacturing & Distribution will be responsible for the documentation, SOP creation, task delegation, and monitoring of a cannabis manufacturing & distribution facility; maintaining production targets that are directly tied to performance bonuses, operating procedures, and compliance operation. The head of manufacturing will be responsible for maintaining quality control measures to ensure high quality product as well as organization, cleanliness and efficiency. The Head of Manufacturing & Distribution will oversee all efforts in the manufacturing & distribution division; ensuring that all processes, training requirements, schedules, policies, and procedures are well executed, to ensure manufacturing production goals are met. The Head of Manufacturing & Distribution needs to excel within an independent framework and communicate effectively with multiple parties, including management, client operations, contractors and vendors. Responsibility to include onsite operational management of production operation covering extraction, purification, quality control, manufacturing, and shipping. The ideal candidate shall have strong problem-solving capabilities, excel under stress, be cognizant of budgetary constraints, and strive for efficient and timely reporting.
Day to Day Tasks and Core Job Duties:
Ensure execution of successful manufacturing & distribution operation:
Proficiency in operating related software programs (i.e. Metrc, Manufacturing and Distribution software, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Develop and ensure execution of a thorough cultivation SOP’s that can be implemented in existing and new cultivation facilities.
In-depth working knowledge of cannabis products.
Consistent manufacturing & distribution status reporting in a form of verbal and written to all executives/leaders/owners.
Travel for facility inspections, media events and investor/executive meetings as needed.
Conduct weekly/daily meetings as it reasonably fits to communicate status and directives to all involved under manufacturing & distribution division.
Lead, Manage, and Develop an independent, efficient and highly performance team.
Facility cleaning. Perform all assigned duties required to ensure a clean, safe and compliance operation. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all manufacturing equipment and tools.
Reports and Documentation. Track products and ensure accurate documentation as required by management and executives.
Responsible for, but not limited to, commencing of operations, team development, operational management, systems analysis, while meeting the strict regulations specific to the local governing regulations.
Ensure that all activities are performed safely and in strict accordance with company guidelines; maintains product and company reputation by complying with governing regulations.
Manages all operational activities, including planning and scheduling for production runs, accounting for material availability, orders, and employee scheduling;
Oversees all quality control (QC) activities and reporting for materials, bulk intermediates, and finished products; this includes inventory verification using multiple database systems and inventory resupplying.
Maintains positive communications with corporate management, local client, vendors and service providers.
Supervises team of technical employees on production process to ensure safe and compliant operations.
Provides general backup for employees to ensure production continuity; training them in all aspects of the operations.
Assists in scheduling maintenance and repair activities for production equipment and instrumentation.
Revises operating procedures and supporting documentation to reflect optimized operational changes; writes technical documents (protocols, manuals, SOPs, white papers, etc.).
Aides in the hiring and training of site employees; develops site relevant training materials and programs.
Comprehends and adheres to the regulations surrounding related operations, including facility needs, SOP needs, labeling and testing requirements and communicates important summaries to team as needed; stays current on regulatory changes.
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree. (preferred but not required)
3+ years of commercial cannabis manufacturing and management experience.
Advanced knowledge of product manufacturing and manufacturing facility operations.
Full working knowledge of batch testing criteria in both medical and recreational markets.
Working knowledge of new cannabis products.
Highly proficient in Metrc, manufacturing and distribution software, MS Office & Google Sheets.
Detail-oriented, willingness to thoroughly execute and establish manufacturing SOP's.
Must maintain a high level of integrity, personal motivation, and a sense of urgency.
Proven leadership skills with references available.
Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or products up to 50 lbs. for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a fast paced, changing and challenging environment.
Experience managing or operating mechanical/chemical systems and processes (reactors, machine tools, control systems, etc.).
Experience in a production plant, manufacturing operation, and/or product development.
Management experience of a production team.
Knowledge of engineering and physical sciences necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsive problem solver and action oriented.
Strong team mentality.
Proficient using PCs and common applications.
Knowledge of the cannabis industry.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
Experience with ISO17025, CLIA or similar certification process a plus.
Additional Compensation Bonuses to be directly tied in with performance targets.
Work Location One location in North Hollywood (initially), with potential second location in the

Salary $75,000 - $100,000 /year
