Position Title: Head of Cultivation
Department Reports to: Executive Directors
Effective Date: January 2020
We are a fully licensed indoor cultivation, manufacturing and distribution operation in the city of North Hollywood and are looking to hire a Head of Cultivation Department. We are looking for driven, responsible, hardworking candidate who can work well as a team. The Head of Cultivation will be responsible for the reporting, documentation, SOP creation, task delegation, and monitoring of an indoor cultivation facility; maintaining yield targets that are directly tied to performance bonuses, operating procedures, and compliance operation. The Head of Cultivation will be responsible for providing day-to-day plant care including watering, pruning, and harvesting. Also, maintaining quality control measures to ensure high quality product and high yield as well as organization, cleanliness and efficiency. The Head of Cultivation will oversee all operation under the cultivation division; ensuring that all processes, training requirements, schedules, policies, and procedures are executed to ensure production goals are met.
Day to Day Tasks and Core Job Duties
Ensure execution of successful indoor cultivation production.
Proficiency in operating related software programs (i.e. Metrc, Seed-to-Sell software, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Develop and ensure execution of a thorough cultivation SOP’s that can be implemented in existing and new cultivation facilities.
In-depth working knowledge of cannabis plant symptom diagnosis, causality, remedy and reproduction applications.
Consistent cultivation status reporting in a form of verbal and written to all executives.
Travel for facility inspections, media events and investor/executive meetings as needed.
Conduct weekly/daily meetings as it reasonably fits to communicate status and directives to all involved under cultivation division.
Lead, Manage, and Develop an independent, efficient and highly performing team.
Ensure plant health by pruning, trimming, analyzing plant health, as well as any other tasks required.
Continuous monitoring, recording and improving LED lighting customization setting for optimal yield.
Manage the rotation of strains to ensure variation and yield targets.
Facility cleaning to ensure a clean, safe and compliance cultivation operation. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all cultivation equipment and tools including light reflectors, containers, mixing tools, application tools and ventilation equipment.
Reports and Documentation. Track plants from birth to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation as required by management and executives.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticultural Production or Research/Agriculture Field. (preferred but not required).
3+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation and management experience in regulated markets.
Advanced knowledge of plant cultivation and cultivation facility operation using LED lighting system.
Full working knowledge of batch testing criteria in both medical and recreational markets.
Working knowledge of cannabis research, genetics propagation, tissue culture and breeding.
Highly proficient in Metrc, Seed-to-Sell software, MS Office & Google Sheets.
Detail-oriented, willingness to thoroughly execute and establish cultivation SOP's.
Must maintain a high level of integrity, personal motivation, and a sense of urgency.
Proven leadership skills with references available.
Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or plants up to 50 lbs. for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a fast paced, changing and challenging environment.
Commercial cannabis cultivation and management: 3 years (Preferred)
Experience with LED cultivation
Experience with HPS cultivation
Experience with stacked tier growing
Additional Compensation Bonuses to be directly tied in with performance targets.
Work Location One location in North Hollywood (initially), with potential second location in the

Schedule Monday to Friday
Weekends and Holidays required (sometimes)

Salary $60,000 - $100,000 /year
