Job Description




The Procurement Manager coordinates all aspects of the procurement of materials and/or services, activities and operations of the purchasing area. This position also manages the purchasing of all purchased product, and oversees the flow all goods and materials inbound, outbound, and internally.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Develops and manages all aspects of the procurement of material, supplies and services

  • Leads strategic projects that bring exceptional value to the company through the total cost reduction, key supplier relationships, commodity focus, supplier consolidation, cost/benefit financial analysis, and supplier quality management.

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with the decision-makers of our top suppliers

  • Ensures compliance with government and appropriate corporate policies and procedures for purchasing/subcontract activities

  • Determines purchase requirements; generates and reschedules purchase orders for sourced goods

  • Prepares required reports and provides detailed analysis of purchased goods

  • Monitors inventory position against sales forecast and customer orders to maintain acceptable safety stock levels

  • Maintains vendor evaluation program and reports on on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness

  • Identifies, document, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Provides cost estimating for new and existing products and participates in cost reduction initiatives

  • Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements

  • Interfaces with customer service on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments

  • Oversees the flow of all goods and materials inbound, outbound, and internally

  • Make suggestions and/or write procedures to control the flow of materials

  • Help to clean up and control the bill of materials

  • Maintain supplier database

  • Provide appropriate updates for Product Data Master and other master plan documents

  • Stay abreast of market conditions, changes in products, changes in price levels, terms, discounts, allowances, promotions and changes with suppliers

  • Meet performance indicators agreed on

  • Follow company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Specifications and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S) in related field

  • Four to six years related experience or equivalent

  • Experience with 3rd party Shared Services - preferred

  • Ability to interpret and negotiate contracts

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

  • Utilize and have sufficient knowledge of Oracle

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish - preferred but not required

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
