Job Description

Global & Reputable publicly traded investment management firm in Los Angeles is seeking a sharp Associate Vice-President, Fund Accounting, Finance & Investments to lead a strategic initiative to develop, implement, and manage an operating plan for the firm's employee investment program. The program facilitates the investment by the firm's employees in the firm's managed funds. The individual will have day-to-day operational oversight and ownership for numerous funds including, but not limited to, investor onboarding and relationship management, operations, reporting and servicing and fund accounting responsibilities.

The role requires an individual who is a strategic thinker and able to collaborate with various cross-functional teams to understand the challenges and needs of stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for managing and continuously improving the data, reporting/insights, technology, and processes needed to deliver a seamless investor experience to our internal investors. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with investment accounting and/or investor portal implementations.

The candidate must be focused on continuous improvement in accuracy and timeliness of ongoing management financial and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

· Own and coordinate new co invest fund launches, including understanding fund structure and jurisdictions, coordination with various internal/external parties, review of draft legal documentation for reporting requirements, negotiating lines of credit, and managing resourcing

· Develop and oversee quarterly reporting deliverables and process in partnership with fund administrator(s)

· Must be a player-coach and manage relationships with internal resources (both US and India based) and external fund administrator(s).

· Coordinate with third party banking relationships and internal and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines

· Oversee and review quarterly NAV reconciliations with fund administrator(s)

· Manage debt facilities and review compliance reporting, as applicable

· Review of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures

· Maintain and review cash flow projections and daily cash management, including any limited partner capital activity (i.e.: capital calls/subscription and distribution/withdrawal calculations)

· Responsible for ad-hoc limited partner, analyst, and investment team requests

· Review information provided to the tax team for quarterly tax estimates and annual tax returns

· Review and monitor fund expense budget and payments

· Assist in coordinating and overseeing project plans, milestones, and updates to executive management

Qualifications

· BS/BA with major in Accounting, Economics or Finance and outstanding academic record

· CPA preferred

· 6+ years of relevant work experience

· 2-3+ years of people/team management

· Public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred)

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment

· Ability to assist in managing several third-party relationships

· Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP

· Proven track record in managing a team

· Strong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

· Investran, eFront, or other investment software experience, a plus

· Sungard Dx, Intralinks, or similar investor portal implementation experience, a plus

· Strong management skills, including proven experience of managing and/or collaborating with teams in remote locations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and high level of supervisory oversight

· Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word (e.g.: complex formulas, macros)

· Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence tools, a plus

· Excellent time management skills and ability to collaborate with others

· Superior communication skills and a demonstrated ability to create content to a diverse audience

· Strong client service orientation

· Outstanding leadership and project management capabilities

· Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail

· Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands; result oriented
