The Role

Our client is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to help build out and maintain our Threat and Vulnerability Management program. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Qualified engineers will have a background in penetration testing and/or ethical hacking. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform penetration tests, code reviews, and document threat models.
  • Plan and lead red team (hacking) exercise operations against the corporation for the purpose of training incident response teams.
  • Plan and lead purple team (attack/defend) exercises in collaboration with the broader Security and DevOps teams.
  • Develop tools and maintain the red team's operational infrastructure.
  • Track and research the latest attacks and how they might apply to our environments.
  • Develop the red team roadmap and drive the direction for the red team program as a whole.
  • Participation in on-call security rotation.
Skills and Experience

  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux-based environments.
  • Proficiency with cloud technology and deployments: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with at least three (3) or more of the following: mobile security, telecom protocols, operating systems, reverse engineering, forensics, network analysis, vulnerability assessment, or malware.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting or coding language.
  • Familiarity with container technologies to include container orchestration and microservices.
  • Working knowledge of software development.
  • Experience in network analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in drafting reports, documenting case details, and able to summarize findings and recommendations based on system analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Experience with automation software. (e.g., Drone, Puppet, Chef)
  • Solid scripting skills. (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Solid networking knowledge. (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • You are a huge fan of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
  • Security Certification: CEH, GIAC, or equivalent pen-testing cert.
  • BS (or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, EE, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
  • Understanding of and experience working in the financial/fintech industry
  • Familiarity with any of the following: digital wallets, lending, trading, accounting systems, etc.
  • Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain

This role can be worked remotely from anywhere within the United States.
