Job Description

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 to $100,000, based upon experience, plus full benefits (health insurance, 401k, PTO, gym membership, etc).

THE HIRING COMPANY & POSITION:
Discovery is now accepting applications for our F&B Director position to oversee all F&B efforts for our Discovery Area restaurant portfolio. As part of our Management Team, you will be the main driver of culinary experience for our Discovery Park restaurants. We are looking for a hands on, energetic, self-motivated person to oversee

FOOD & BEVERAGE DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee F&B efforts for our entire Discovery Park restaurant portfolio
  • Establish, direct and review performance standards in food preparation, purchasing and production to ensure effective, controlled and coordinated efforts are achieved.
  • Monitor and, when necessary, develop and implement schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve a profitable result.
  • Work with the Kitchen Managers to design menu items to attract a predetermined customer market.
  • Monitor and implement effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs to ensure efficient operation and that expenditures stay within budget limitations, including achieving budgeted revenue and labor expenses.
  • Assist the departmental managers in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives and desired standards of quality food, service, cleanliness and promotions.
  • Maintain awareness of food & beverage trends and cultivate creativity among food and beverage team members.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the individual outlets and investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints.
  • Coach or step in as Department Manager as needed to support restaurant success

FOOD & BEVERAGE DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • REQUIRED; 6+ years of upscale food service and multi-unit concept management.
  • REQUIRED; Previous culinary/chef experience
  • REQUIRED; Enthusiastic, energetic, persuasive, competitive, and outgoing personality.
  • PREFERRED; BS degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or related field
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Acute financial management skills
