Job Description

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 to $90,000, based upon experience, plus full benefits (health insurance, 401k, PTO, gym membership, etc).

THE HIRING COMPANY: Real Equity Management (REM) is a privately owned design-build and property management firm based in Columbia, Missouri. For more than 20 years, we have fulfilled community needs by building a diverse commercial and residential real estate portfolio across the Midwest. Over the years, our portfolio has grown to include hotels, restaurants, mixed-use and market-rate communities, in addition to commercial and retail spaces. We remain focused on our plans for growth and currently have several exciting projects under construction and in queue!

OUR CULINARY DIRECTOR POSITION: We are looking to hire a Culinary Director to oversee the culinary aspects of our restaurant portfolio within our mixed-use community, Discovery Park. As part of our Management Team, you will be the main driver of the culinary experience for our Discovery Park restaurants. Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, hands-on, culinary professional with a passion for food and a knack for making customers happy!


  • Oversee all culinary efforts for our entire Discovery Park restaurant portfolio.
  • Be physically present at each restaurant on a daily basis, collaborating with our back-of-house teams and supporting them in any way needed.
  • Create weekly schedule for back of house labor for each restaurant based upon forecasted sales.
  • Responsible for placing all back of house orders with vendors based upon forecasted sales.
  • Monitor and implement effective controls of food to ensure food costs targets are being met.
  • Design weekly specials and new menu items to attract a predetermined customer market.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the individual outlets and investigate and resolve food quality complaints.
  • Coach teams and step in as Kitchen Manager as needed to support restaurants success.


  • REQUIRED; 6+ years of upscale food service and multi-unit concept management.
  • REQUIRED; Previous culinary/chef experience
  • REQUIRED; Enthusiastic, energetic, persuasive, competitive, and outgoing personality.
  • PREFERRED; BS degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or related field
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Acute financial management skills
