GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Provides direct clinical services to clients involving intake, treatment planning, case management and psychotherapy; work is performed under general supervision.
Ø Provides individual, family, and group therapies as well as case management services to meet clients’ needs and productivity standards.
Ø Conducts clinical intakes, diagnostic interviews, and treatment plans; Develops and writes comprehensive diagnostic summaries and reports with appropriate referrals.
Ø Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files and reports, documenting to meet clinical auditing standards.
Ø Completes Quarterly and Annual Reviews within required time frames.
Ø Participates in clinical, administrative and supervisory meetings; collaborates with other staff members concerning cases.
Ø Communicates with Probation Offices, Courts, Social Services, Physicians and other referring agencies regarding client status.
Ø Telephone communication with clients outside the clinical setting.
Ø Completes discharge summaries on a timely manner and accurately reflect progress towards treatment goals.
Ø Supports client reimbursement by properly authorizing services on a timely basis and encouraging clients to pay at time of service.
Ø Drug tests clients as needed basis or as directed.
Ø Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of diagnostic classification and psychosocial assessment; thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of providing care to the emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, mentally ill and/or substance abusive clients and their families; thorough knowledge of the theories and techniques of counseling and crisis intervention; thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures; ability to evaluate and screen clients; ability to prepare adequate records and to report findings and data effectively; knowledge of MS Office, to include Word and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in Human Services or related field; LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LSATP license eligible; Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP); at least one year experience in substance abuse and mental health is required. Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Position may be filled at a Sr. Clinician Level depending upon experience and licensure.
