CNC Operations Manager/Engineer

  • Serves as a key member of the company's Senior Management Team
  • Serves as a member of the Company’s Safety Committee and ensures a safe working environment for all employees
  • Ensures work areas in the plant are clean and orderly and reflect good housekeeping practices.
  • Ensures the company’s AS9100 certified Quality Management System's policies and procedures are followed.
  • Motivates, leads, coaches and supervises the Company’s 15 Set Up and Machine Operators. Ensures accountability for meeting quality requirements and production standards.
  • As assigned, engineers, programs, and designs or builds fixtures for new projects
  • Helps to train Set Up and Machine operators to strengthen and improve their skills, knowledge and capabilities.
  • Helps to trouble-shoot production, process or mechanical problems on the production floor.
  • Is a champion in the implementation of processes or practices (i.e. Lean, Kaizen, etc) that will enable the company to be productive, efficient, and cost effective, and provides for continuous improvement to be a way of life within the company.
  • Takes an active role in the satisfactory resolution of any quality issues or complaints and ensures that Corrective Actions are identified and implemented.
  • Participates in the development of quotes for Customers to maximize profitability and provide for sales growth.
  • Working closely with the General Manager, provides input into the development of Manufacturing production schedules to maximize productivity, efficiency, and up-time, while ensuring customer orders are delivered on time.
  • Takes a lead role in decisions regarding machinery and equipment – purchase, retirement, maintenance, upgrades, etc.

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in a CNC Machining environment with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility
  • Broad experience in the operation and set up of CNC Mills and/or Lathes (Experience in Mills and Lathes preferred, but not a requirement)
  • Knowledgeable in using MasterCam programming software and Solid Models
  • Knowledgeable is working with Fanuc machine controls
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising the performance of direct reports
  • Experience in working in an AS9100 certified organization is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex blueprints and a sound knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the proper use of various Quality and Inspection instruments
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with Customers, supervisors, peers and direct reports
  • Enjoys working as part of a cohesive team to achieve company Goals and Objectives
