We are actively recruiting for a high growth role for Plant Manager.
As the Plant Manager at our Dyersville, IA location, you will need to utilize your skills, prior production experience, and the desire to jump-in and support where it’s needed, to assist taking the team to the next level. The following are the essential duties and responsibilities you can expect to do:
- Lead with respect, honesty, and integrity
- Develop, partner and manage a skilled and responsive workforce
- Establish performance requirements and clarify responsibilities to those supervised, which includes conducting performance appraisals, identifying/communicating plans for individual employee improvements, and communicating merit increases and related information to employees as appropriate as well as providing coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities
- Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; these duties include determining work assignments, performance evaluations, wage adjustments, and disciplinary matters
- Create and support a LEAN production environment
- Manage and maintain a production schedule with changing priorities
- Daily hands-on management of production, flow, and throughput working directly with production team members to ensure customer specifications and delivery dates are met
- Implement appropriate production floor strategies to improve profitability and enable business growth
- Coach, train, develop, and mentor production team to create a high-performance culture with a continuous improvement mindset
- Maintain a high level of presence and connectivity with employees at all levels of the organization and division
- Introduce, improve, and leverage key metrics to drive operational performance and a winning culture
What Are We Looking For?
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you for this position:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable field (Engineering or Operations preferred)
- 5-10 years of progressive, proven experience leading, directing, and developing a production team in a complex manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledge, skills, and experience is required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Long-range strategic thinking capability and action oriented
