Rantec Microwave Systems has an immediate opening for a Production Planner responsible for coordinating and monitoring products through the complete production cycle. This position monitors material requirements ensuring a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements and deadlines, verifies progress of jobs through the manufacturing processes, and informs supervisor concerning any variations.
Candidate will be involved in the conversion to a new ERP system. Prior experience in a conversion to a new ERP system is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
• Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecast and customer orders.
• Plans and schedules workflows for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Plan and issue build kits to production utilizing MRP.
• Open and manage production Work Order packages.
• Maintain accuracy of Inventory.
• Manage material shortages for production build and communicate status to management.
• Confer and coordinate with Purchasing on the status of parts being procured for production orders to ensure timely release and completion of production orders.
• Generates purchase orders to obtain materials.
• Confer with Production Supervisors and Leads to determine status of production jobs.
• Prepare and attend Production Meetings to provide detailed updates on planned and promise dates.
• Coordinate stock issues, shortages, and outages.
• Run and analyze MRP demands to ensure adequate finished goods stock.
• Verifies material and tooling availability including the coordination of any sub-out parts.
• Verifies progress of jobs and informs Supervisor of any variance from production schedule.
• Receives and processes change orders.
• Works closely with Purchasing on outsourced items/processes.
• Ensures compliance with company safety rules and policies.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree; or 10+ years’ experience and/or training in production planning, or equivalent of education and experience.

Requirements:
• Computer skills to include experience working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and any ERP systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to time sensitive requests.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in group meeting settings.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple to complex instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measuring, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of costing and production methods in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved to uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in sometimes complex situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to acquire a Secret security clearance.
