DFT has been in business since 2001 with strong customer relationships in both defense and high tech. They were recently spun-out from a large global defense contractor, allowing DFT to get back to grass-roots engineering, rapid development and a start-up mentality.
DFT is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering and full cycle product design. This role will be responsible for developing new features to either enhance current products or grow DFT capabilities. This role requires leadership, team coordination and strong planning skills. The successful candidate will be one that "owns the outcome" by managing schedules and allocating department resources. The ideal candidate will have a high attention for detail and quality while meeting aggressive deadlines.
•Lead product development efforts to ensure adequate resource allocation, the highest levels of quality and timely delivery
•Design and test all aspects of electrical products, systems and specialized devices to ensure proper system level interface compatibility
•Apply principles of electrical engineering on microcontroller, microprocessor and FPGA based systems
•Create schematic design and PCB layout on a varying scale of complexity
•Function as the direct liaison for the leadership team, customers, external vendors, cross functional engineering departments, production and shipping.
•Meet product timelines by coordinating across departments
•Support the software department by communicating hardware specifications and assist with hardware/software integration
•Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
•Communicate progress and complications and recommend fixes within electrical engineering parameters
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• Ability to efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of multiple concurrent projects across the entire lifecycle
• 5 years of schematic design experience
• Proficient user of Altium design software or similar tools
• Previous experience reviewing, interpreting and implementing layout requirements
• Comfortable working independently and also as part of a team in a product lead and/ or an individual contributor capacity
• 5 years of experience performing failure analysis and debugging hardware issues
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task while tracking on multiple projects
