Job Title: Director of Business DevelopmentDepartment: Property ManagementReports To: Managing DirectorFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Summary: The Director of Business Development must be a leader who is able to engage, communicate, and present to clients the benefits of choosing Matrix Residential as the preferred management company. The DBD aassists the Managing Director, Senior Directors, and Directors in researching and developing potential new business opportunities by identifying and meeting with potential clients and developing proposals. The DBD must develop and produce professional proposals and supporting materials to clients in numerous markets.

Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required to present in person to clients. This position oversees the growth of the property management company with specific emphasis on profitable property management agreements, 3rd party client relations, and strategic growth for the portfolio. The DBD develops business plans to promote market growth by gathering market and other relevant data, analyzing and identifying emerging trends, assessing impact on the client’s market position, and communicating issues, threats, opportunities, and pertinent information to the senior leadership.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Assist Managing Director with all projects and assignmentsSupport department heads with all projects such as Sr.

Directors, Directors, Director of Experience, Director of MarketingCollaborate with department heads to ensure vision and culture of the company is implementedMaintain and expand fruitful relationships with existing partnersPerform due diligence on potential partners, deals, and new marketsPerform market research to help identify new leads and opportunities and create business plansCreate proposals for management, supplemental reports, and deliverables for potential clientsProperty management agreement negotiation, editing, and reviewComplete and/or review underwriting for current and potential clients to assist in their purchasing effortsAttend various, seminars, conferences and events to pursue networking opportunities and gather knowledge on various markets for future growthAssist in introducing new software programs and strategies to aid in growthOrganizational Responsibilities:Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, research and/or subscribing to the Internet or other professional publications, or utilizing other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.Keeps abreast of new trends and changes in the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending national conferences, apartment association meetings, and other events, and accessing other information sources.Participate in activities outside the normal course of daily business that will enhance both the Company and your stature in the marketplace. This includes participation in industry related associations and groups to further your own development and the business goals of the company. As real estate professionals, it is important to take pride in the communities in which we do business and to be active in those communities.Work Hours:This position is scheduled for 40 hours in a regular work week.

Hours of operation vary, but typical office hours are from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Must be available to work on additional tasks that may require work on weekends or after hours.
