Job Summary: Promotes and restores patients' health by working as a healthcare team member; collaborating with other CNA’s, LPN’s and RN’s. Reports to Team Nurse (RN/LPN), Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer. Responsibilities include: o Identifies patient care needs by working as a team and collaborating with the healthcare team. o Promotes a compassionate environment by providing support to patients, friends, and families. o Promotes patient's independence by working on the patient care goals with the health care team. o Adheres to appropriate standards for a Certified Nurse Assistant and helps to meet and sustain the measures for the governing bodies of Memorial Hospital. o Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel. o Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. o Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records timely. o Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. o Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential o Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. o Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. o Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. o Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Qualifications: Minimum – Completed CNA program, on the Healthcare Worker Registry Clinical Skills, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Nursing Skills, Physiological Knowledge, Administering Medication, Medical Teamwork, Multi-tasking, Listening, Verbal Communication, Health Promotion and Maintenance Certification: Illinois Certificate for Nurse Assistant Training: o Annual education, skills and competencies required by MH o BLS Experience: o Preferred 1 year healthcare experience
