JOB DESCRIPTION



SUMMARY:


The primary purpose of your job position is to direct the personnel in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed be the Administrator. This list is not a complete list of duties and requirements of the Human Resources / Payroll.



  1. Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the personnel.
  2. Maintain job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility.
  3. Prepare and maintain all personnel records including TB health cards, License and Criminal background checks.
  4. Assure that the facility is in compliance with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman's/unemployment compensation, etc.
  5. Ensure hiring/discharge procedures are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  6. Orient new personnel to facility and explain personnel policies, procedures, payroll procedures, safety/smoking regulations, grievance procedures, etc., as established in our operational policies and procedures.
  7. Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Administrator as required.
  8. Arrange for pre-employment tests, physicals, HBV vaccinations, etc.
  9. Process all newly hired personnel and all change of status data.
  10. Monitor unemployment claims and assist facility with appeals.
  11. Assure that nurse aide data is verified or submitted to the Nurse Aide Registry on a timely basis.
  12. Maintain attendance records and records of counseling, warning, and other disciplinary action taken against employees.
  13. Assure that appropriate training records are maintained for staff personnel.
  14. Enter and process payroll, file all required reports, pay payroll taxes, and ensure time clock is functioning properly.



QUALIFICATIONS:


Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


To be successful in this job, the employee must be able to stand and walk during the shift. Movements required are bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, pushing/pulling, and reach above shoulder level. Hand use is not constant and low stress. Hand use will include occasional griping, squeezing, and using the fingers to feel and control objects. The individual must be able to carry 30 pounds and be able to lift and move 75 pounds or more.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


While doing this job Human Resources / Payroll, you could be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and body fluids, which can contain AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Chemical exposures are limited to cleaners, disinfectants, and personal care items. Human Resources / Payroll occasionally work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays.
