To succeed in this role, you must have a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution and have 3-5 years of experience in a related field. You will join our Environment & Health Department
As our new EHS Consultant, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team in Louisiana. You will work with all levels of technical expertise, from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields. Each member of our team is part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job tasks. The successful applicant will be able to work independently, thrive in a team-environment, and be a technical resource for project managers and staff.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Evaluating federal, state, and local EHS regulatory requirements to develop and enhance facility EHS programs.
- Conducting EHS compliance and/or management systems audits.
- Providing technical assistance on EHS compliance, EHS management systems, and process safety management projects.
- Assisting in the preparation and editing of technical reports.
- Interactions with clients, agencies, and attorneys.
- Formulating conclusions and opinions and communicating with clients.
Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% average over the year and possess a valid driver’s license. Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state. Travel duration may range from one to ten days, depending upon the specific requirements of each project. Field work and travel hours may vary and will include frequent early morning starts ranging from 5 am to 7 am.
