Experienced Chemist and Genomics Scientist-PhD Degree Required

Rainbow Diagnostics is a biotech start-up located in the QB3 incubator at UCSF, San Francisco, CA. The company is developing next generation tools for single cell multiomics analysis and clinical diagnostics. It is funded by seasoned investors and NIH/SBIR grants.

We are seeking two highly-motivated and risk-taking scientists to take a key role in developing our platform technology. The successful candidate will work closely with the founders of the company to develop biochemical assays and devices to detect genomic sequences and gene expression in various biospecimens.

Scientist-1:

Responsibilities

  • Develop chemical assay for single cell imaging
  • Design and implement cell and tissue imaging experiments
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external collaborators

Qualifications

  • PhD in biophysical chemistry, chemical engineering, chemical biology, polymer chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with tissue clearing methods such as CLARITY or Expansion Microscopy is highly desired.
  • Experience with nucleic acid and protein biochemistry is preferred.
  • Experience with fluorescence imaging and/or sequencing is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Scientist-2:

Responsibilities

  • Develop nucleic acid and genomic assay for single cell analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external collaborators

Qualifications

  • PhD in biochemistry, bioengineering, genetics, genomics or a related field.
  • Strong experience and hands on skills with nucleic acid assay development such as multiplex PCR, digital PCR, and/or library preparation for NGS and single cell RNA-seq is highly desired.
  • Experience with sequencing assay development, and/or tissue preparation is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
