Job Description

Main mission of the role:

The Electronic Technician will modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components, or products (i.e. PLCs, Drives, HMIs, Relays, etc). 

Main interfaces:

A facilities electrical-electronics specialist interfaces mostly with the Facilities Manager/Admin regularly, and with Operations and Engineering as needed for maintenance and projects. ​

Essential Job Functions

•              Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.

•              Tests, inspects, and troubleshoots facilities or equipment issues.

•              Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications.

•              Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organizations electronic systems. Programming abilities will be required.

•              Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.

•              Ensures local, state, and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout electrical systems.

•              Manages and installs cables and wiring, splicing as needed.

•              Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various electronics.

•              Performs safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions.

•              Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue.

•              Instructs employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic equipment and components.

•              Develops and maintains records related to electronic and electrical equipment.

•              Interfaces with vendors, contractors, state officials, and RFS team members in support of facility initiatives, work requests, or other duties as assigned in a professional and team-oriented manner.

•              Performs other related duties as assigned.


Skills, knowledge and abilities

•              Education: Associates degree in Electronics preferred

•              Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification or licensure preferred

•              5+ years’ experience in a specialized capacity

•              E-1 Electrical License required

•              Good communication skills

•              General computer competence (Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Email)

•              Specialized computer competence (programming software as required)

•              Ability to prioritize issues and tasks effectively

•              Work well in a team environment

•              Familiarity of systems that support an office and manufacturing facility

•              Must have tool box and basic tools required for the functions listed above



*A $500 pre-tax bonus will be paid in the first payroll following your date of hire. In the first payroll following 30 days of active employment, a $1000 pre-tax payment will be made. In the event you leave the Company within 180 days of your date of hire, you agree to repay any bonus paid within 10 calendar days.
