Job Title: IT Systems Administrator

Reports to: Director of IT

Location: South San Francisco – Hybrid

Employment type: Full time

FLSA: Exempt

  • Provide desktop support to our customers (mostly internal)
  • Perform IT administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • On/Off boarding users which includes application administration and hardware management
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Maintain IT hardware supplies - keyboards, mice, and other necessary IT peripherals
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • This position is a primarily remote - hybrid role, with onsite office visits as needed and may be subject to change


  • Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science or
  • 3+ years or experience as a System Administrator
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a history of clients and other stakeholders as an audience
  • Experience using Azure AD or other active directory software
  • Experience with Windows; up to date on current equipment and technologies, procedures, system performance tuning, patch management, remote access utilities, backup and recovery, monitoring and alerting applications
  • MDM/Desktop management such as JAMF, Intune, or Workspace ONE
  • Experience with security; antivirus, MDR/MSP, mitigation, monitoring and SSO/SCIM platforms such as Okta
  • Experience with application administration; such as Atlassian, Box, Slack, etc.
  • Some experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing
  • Some experience and knowledge with networking; TCP/IP, VPN and WiFi
  • Comfortable working in small data centers (IDF and MDFs), labs and able to lift at least 40 lbs
  • Strong prioritization and project management skills, including timely communication of timelines, status, and critical issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a startup or other fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrable analytical skills
  • Ability to Travel up to 30%
